The Michigan PGA held its Annual Fall Meeting on Monday, October 27. With approximately 260 Members in attendance, President Doug White welcomed everyone to Eagle Eye Golf Club. He also welcomed special guests Legal Counsel John Allen, Frank Chieppa, PGA, Player Development Regional Manager, former Executive Director Ken Devine, Brent Kerstetter, Sanford Financial Services and all Past Presidents in attendance.
Randy White administered the invocation and remembered deceased PGA member Tommy Valentine.
President White talked about the Senior PGA Championship being such a successful event once again, and the success of the Drive Chip & Putt events. Doug also thanked outgoing Board of Directors for their service to the Section.
Vice President Ron Osborne, along with Executive Director Kevin Helm, reviewed budget numbers through September, 2014, and Brent Kerstetter reviewed the Section’s investments.
Secretary Kevin McKinley explained the MSR requirements needed by June 15, 2015, and acknowledged and welcomed new members, quarter century members and the 2014 Michigan PGA Hall of Fame inductee Ken Allard.
Honorary President Gary Koenes oversaw the voting for five At-Large Directors. Those elected were Roger Bliss, Adrian Jolliffe, Doug Kreis, Chris Sobieck and Mike Sullivan.
The membership also voted for the 2015 Special Awards finalists. The following members will have an interview with the Special Awards Committee in February, 2015:

Frank Chieppa spoke about growing the game of golf through strategic initiatives and National programming.

Thanks also go out to the members who brought canned goods that will be donated to the Greater Lansing Food Bank.
The afternoon education consisted of Tom Shay, Profits Plus Solutions, who presented a 3 part session: If Patton Ran Your Business, Getting Extraordinary Results from Ordinary People and Characteristics of a Successful Business. Over 85 Michigan PGA members were in attendance.
