2019 PGA Jr. League Michigan State Championship presented by National Car Rental

Contested at Binder Park Golf Course in Battle Creek, MI

Day One: Qualifier

260 kids from all over the state of Michigan gathered together on Wednesday, August 14th to determine the 2019 PGA Jr. League State Champion. The All-Star Teams were comprised of 10 kids who represented the teams within their league. Each team had a PGA/LPGA Captain. The 26 teams were broken up into two different pods, one competing on the Marsh side and the other competing on the Preserve side. The lowest two team scores on both the Marsh and Preserve advanced to the Final Four Match Play Championship.

Format: Stroke Play Aggregate Score – Each team sent out two groups of two players and two groups of three players. Each team played a two-person scramble. Some of the groups included a third player who alternated in-out of competition. Each child played at least 6 holes to contribute to the team score. Players recorded their scores for each hole. We took the best three out of four scores for the team’s total. The lowest score from each pod advanced to the Final Four Match Play Championship. The teams played 9 holes.
