Apprentice Corner

In an effort to streamline operations, we are offering the following benefits as it pertains to playing privileges in Chapter and/or Section events:

Playing Privileges Policy

On May 26, 2011, the Board of Directors revised the playing privilege policy for Registered Apprentices, Pre-Apprentices and Reinstated Apprentices. It is very important that you read this policy to make sure that you are eligible! Click HERE to view the policy.

Purchase your Section Playing Permit

The Section Playing Permit must be purchased through our office. Just print the application and fax it in with a credit card.

Click HERE for the Apprentice Section Playing Permit Form

Chapter Playing Permit Online

After the Section permit has been approved and purchased, you may then go online and purchase your Chapter permit HERE.   Both permits are needed in order to register and play in any Section and/or Chapter event.

Pro-Am Entry/Registration Process

The process to enter a Chapter pro am has not changed. You “enter” the pro-am by calling the host facility per the specific Chapter Rules & Regulations.

Pro-Am Payment

Online payment is available until 12pm the Friday before an event. You will only be allowed to pay online after purchase of your Chapter and/or Section Apprentice Playing Permit. You can also pay with a check onsite the day of the event.

Additional Benefits Include:

Direct deposit – any tournament winnings, whether a Section or Chapter event, can be direct deposited into your bank account. For those of you who would like to take advantage of this, Click HERE for a direct deposit form.

W-9 – any facility that will be paid from the Section this year (a facility that will host a Section or Chapter event or a facility that will receive gift certificate revenue) will need to complete a W-9 form.  Please pass along to your administrative staff if necessary. Your facility will not be paid without a returned W-9 on file. This can also be sent back with the direct deposit form. Click HERE for the W-9 form.

Amateur Gift Certificates – in order to comply with IRS regulations, all Section Members who win gift certificates in a Chapter/Section Pro Am must specify where he/she would like the gift certificate money sent (i.e. Professional, Club or Professional’s shop).

The direct deposit and W-9 forms should be completed and sent directly back to the PGA of America as follows:
