Area Youth Golfers to Compete in Drive, Chip and Putt Regional Qualifier at Oakland Hills Country Club for Invitation to Augusta National

Top eight golfers – four male and four female – from Saturday, October 5th’s competition at Oakland Hills Country Club will advance to the National Finals at the site of the Masters Tournament on Sunday, April 5

Why: Conducted in partnership between the Masters Tournament, the PGA of America and the USGA, Drive, Chip and Putt is a free, nationwide youth golf development program open to boys and girls, ages 7-15, in four age divisions.

One of 10 regional competitions across the United States will take place at Oakland Hills Country Club on October 5, 2019. The top male and female finishers across the four age divisions from each regional qualifier – 80 finalists in total – will compete in the Drive, Chip and Putt National Finals in April at Augusta National Golf Club ahead of the 2020 Masters Tournament. Drive, Chip and Putt local qualifying occurred in May, June and July, at more than 300 sites throughout the United States. The top three scorers per venue, in each of four age categories in separate boys and girls’ divisions, advanced to more than 60 subregional qualifiers in July and August. Two juniors in each age and gender division moved on to the regional qualifiers, which determine the 80 National Finalists.
