Hebert and Seltzer advance to finals of the Michigan PGA Match Play at Tullymore Golf Resort

CANADIAN LAKES – The Michigan PGA Section Match Play at Tullymore Resort is down to the final two players as  Scott Hebert from Traverse City Golf & Country Club will face John Seltzer from Blythefield Country Club.

8:10am – Kyle Martin vs John Seltzer ( John wins 5 & 3)

Scott Hebert has advanced to the finals with his (3 & 1) win over Lee Houtteman from Manitou Passage Golf Club Tuesday morning. It was a back and forth match that remained all square after Lee made birdie at #14. Scott then went on to take control of the match with birdies at both #15 and #16 to go 2 up. After Lee’s tee shot found the woods at #17 he conceded the match. Scott is looking for his first match play championship title.

Scott Hebert will face off against John Seltzer in  the finals. John took control of his match early against Kyle Martin from the Lochmoor Club going 4 up thru 7 holes. John then holed out from 150 yards on the 11th hole for an eagle 2 to go 5 up. His conceded birdie (2) on hole #15 gave him the 5 & 3 victory. John is looking for his second Match Play Championship title as we won in 2009.

The final 16 golfers participating advanced from their chapter or senior organization match play rounds to battle at Tullymore for the Jim Picard Trophy and $3,500 first-place prize out of a $15,100 purse.
