Bloom & Castelanni win the Nike State Pro Am

Harbor Springs, MI – It took three playoff holes for the team of PGA Professional Patrick Bloom from Forest Dunes Golf Club and his amateur partner Carson Castelanni to win the 2016 Nike State Pro Am.

Patrick and Carson started the day 3 shots back of the lead after shooting a (-5) under par round of 67 on the Hills course on Monday. They followed that up with a (-7) under par round of 65 today on the Heather course, putting them at (-12) under for the tournament and tied with PGA Professional Scott Hebert from Traverse City Golf & CC and his amateur partner Andrew Chapman.

Both teams tied with birdies on the first playoff hole and pars on the second playoff hole. Patrick then knocked it to 4 feet and made the birdie putt on the 3rd playoff hole to give them their first Nike State Pro Am title.

Coming in 3rd place were the round 1 leaders, PGA Professional Kyle Wittenbach and his amateur partner Ben Cook. Kyle and Ben followed up their opening round of 64 on the Heather with a 70 today on the Hills to finish the tournament at (-10) under and two shots back.

108 teams made up of one Michigan PGA Professional and one Amateur from the state of Michigan are competed in this scratch best ball format.

We would like to thank our host site, Boyne Highlands. The golf courses were in great shape and the staff does a great job with this event.

We would also like to thank our sponsor Nike. They once again had the  Nike mobile pro shop set up as all amateurs and professionals received $100 to spend in that shop.
