Pearce / Chmielewski win the 2016 Senior Pro – Senior Am

Grand Blanc, MI – It took one extra hole but the team  of professional Barry Pearce from Beacon Hill Golf Club and his amateur partner Greg Chmielewski captured the 2016 Senior Pro  – Senior Am at Atlas Valley Golf & Country Club.

36 teams consisting of one professional and one amateur both over the age of 50 competed this past Thursday in the best ball format. Barry and Greg finished the day with a round of 68 (-4) under par. Also finishing at (-4) under was the team of professional Boyd Barth from the Flint Elks Club and his amateur partner Scott Wirth. Barry and Greg were able to defeat Boyd and Scott on the first playoff hole to win the overall championship.

The teams are split into two flights based on the average age of the teams. The flights are named after the 2016 Michigan PGA Senior Organization Honorees. With that round of 68 Boyd and Scott won the “Pat Croswell Flight”. In the “Gary Whitner Flight” we had two teams tied with rounds of (2) under 70 – professional Paul Hasse from the Kendall Acadamy and his amateur partner Bill Zylstra along with professional Lynn Janson from Hastings Country Club and his amateur partner Doug Dingwall.

Congratulations as well to Nick Berklich who recorded a hole in one on hole #10 and picked up one of the four skins on the day.
