Stevenson and Bowser earn invitation to San Diego!

Brighton, MI – Baker Stevenson 16, and Elayna Bowser 16 took first place overall at Oak Pointe Country Club, and earned an invite to the 2013 Callaway Junior World Championships in San Diego, CA.

Baker Stevenson is a first year Michigan PGA Junior Tour member, and played consistently shooting 36 on both the front and back nine for a 72. The young junior showed poise as he strategically navigated the Championship Course recording five birdies in route to his first place finish. Baker’s next event will be at the Junior PGA Championship on June 20-21st at Bedford Valley Golf Club where he will attempt to qualify for the National Junior PGA Championship on July 30-Aug 2nd at Trump National Golf Club in Potomac Falls, VA.

Also making her Michigan PGA Junior Tour debut was Elayna Bowser. The sister of former MPGA Junior Tour member Evan Bowser, Elayna showed her determination by recording four birdies during her round. She finished 36-39-75, outlasting Julia Dean by one stroke. Elayna will also be competing at the Junior PGA Championships in hopes of earning back to back qualifying victories.
