PGA Junior League Golf   features a team-vs-team format in a structured league providing a popular, less stressful,  2 person team scramble format. Each team-vs-team competition in PGA JLG consists of four 9-hole matches. Each 9-hole match is broken down into three 3-hole segments that we call “Flags”. Actual “Flag” stickers are awarded to participants upon capturing a 3-hole point for their team. Participants wear numbered jerseys and play on teams in a popular scramble format.

This year we had over 90 teams participating in Michigan. This was the 3rd year that we have had the PGA Junior League here in Michigan. It has grown from 22 teams the first year in 2013, 57 teams last year and over 90 teams this year.

PGA Junior League Golf continues to be one of the PGA of America’s fastest growing programs, with a nearly

100 percent increase each year. Below are approximate yearly numbers:

  • 2015: 30,000 boys and girls; 2,500 teams
  • 2014: 17,500 boys and girls; 1,425 teams
  • 2013: 9,000 boys and girls; 740 teams

Rory McIlroy and Michelle Wie are Official Ambassadors for PGA Junior League Golf.

Thank you to Fox Hills Golf & Banquet Center for hosting the State Finals. We would also like to thank all of the juniors, parents and PGA Professionals for participating this year and continuing to help grow this program and junior golf.
